Bed Harmony Index: HOW WELL SUITED ARE YOU IN BED?

One of you is too hot, the other is too cold. Does that sound familiar? Then you’re in good company, as our Bed Harmony Index shows. In the five years that Dagsmejan has been around, we’ve sold more than 500,000 products around the world and in doing so, we’ve learned a lot about the harmony between the sheets of our customers.

In a survey of around 18,000 people from across the globe, we discovered what the most common sleep types are. The result? Only 5% of people are happy with their body temperature when they sleep. Almost half (46%) struggle with temperature fluctuations, meaning they switch between being too hot and too cold. The other half is either too hot (37%) or too cold (12%) during the night.

MEN vs. WOMEN: BATTLE OF THE SEXES?

The results of our Bed Harmony Index hint that many couples don’t match in bed as well as they might like. While almost every second man (47%) is too warm at night, only around a third of women (32%) have the same problem.

If anything, the female of the species is more likely to suffer from sometimes being too hot, and at other times being too cold. Almost 51% of women report this kind of temperature swing. This difference in how the sexes feel the hot and cold can make sleeping together harmoniously in the same bed quite a challenge.

THE HOTTEST SLEEPERS IN THE WORLD

An international comparison shows that the most Americans feel hot at night, leading the rankings with 43%. In second place are the Swiss with 40% hot sleepers, followed by the Germans with 35%, then the British, who take fourth place in the list of people who are too warm at night with 32%.

WHAT TO DO WHEN IT’S NOT WORKING OUT IN BED

Differing sleeping requirements can become a challenge for couples sharing a bed, in particular. By buying functional sleepwear from Dagsmejan, however, this problem is all but solved (and overall, it’s much cheaper than couples’ therapy).

Our moisture wicking pajamas were developed specially for people’s varying warmth requirements and ensure that even when you’re sharing your bed with your partner or the whole family, you all get the restful night’s sleep you need. And the conversation about bedroom temperature? The experts have the final say: they agree that the room where we sleep should be no more than 64.5°F.

THE BEST PAJAMAS: FOR THE HOT, THE COLD, AND THE IN BETWEEN
